On Friday 28 February 2020 the year 7 and 8s went on a field trip to to Hamlin's Hill to look at pest control in action.
We had an educator from Auckland Zoo, Mr Dale, come along and show us the traps used and why it is important to be targeting the pests. We had an awesome view once we got to the top of the hill.
We learnt the importance of protecting our native flora and fauna.
Hi Room 7, it's really cool to read stuff on you blog. We have just started pest control at our school for rats, stoats, wesels, ferrets and possums. I was just wondering did you see any pests on you trip?

Kia Ora Miller, my name is Limiteti and attend Ruapotaka School. Thank you for your comment. During our walk around Hamlin's Hill we did discover a rat or rabbit that quickly ran across from us. It was a scary but entertaining experience. Hopefully we could actually discover what the pest was actually.
