Samoan Language week

A big thank you to Mrs Folu who came to our class to speak about the Samoan culture. The students really enjoyed listening to the story of how the tapa came about and were even more excited to have a go at making one themselves.
Sonny, Sebastian and Frank made a presentation to talk about their culture as well. They did such an awesome job!

For our writing we posed a controversial question; should we continue to do language weeks at school? More about that to come.

We were also learnt that having Biodegradable plastic is actually pretty good to use. There is also so many different types of plastic out there. One of them being  high density polyethylene, which is just milk containers and any other type of bottle.  This type of plastic is called HDPE.

Road Safety by Alamoni

We might be in lockdown but once this pandemic has been solved we will be allowed to go out again but still with the same conditions and hope everyone will stick to it but on thing we must remember is the rules on the road so here are some rules on the rad the you need to keep.

1. One thing you should know and remember is to keep to the speed limit and always stop at STOP signs.

2.Another one is to always slow down to observe recommended speeds around bends and to keep on your left-hand side

3. A simple one that everyone should know is to always put on their seat belt and to know that it is on is to wait till you a click then you are already to go.

4. Do not Drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs it is a crime in New Zealand and strictly enforced by police.

5. Remember to give way to cyclists using the bus lanes, and vehicles using bus lanes.

these are all the things you need to remember while on the road I hope everyone keeps safe and looks both ways on the crossing.

Earth Day by Alamoni

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to establish support for environmental protection. it was First celebrated in 1970 and has continued on till this day and now over one billion people in 192 countries celebrate this.
Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson came up with the idea for a national day to focus on the environment.

Lastly to celebrate this you could do some garden in your backyard and try planting some flowers or if you want you could plant things that can be used in you life like potatoes, lettuce, blueberries, and more, so when doing this you can make the world a little more brighter for the next generation.
