Positive relationships has been the theme of our Kiwi can sessions. Room 7 has participated enthusiastically in all the sessions and they've especially enjoyed competing against each other in the general knowledge quiz. Room 7 has been excelling in their team work as can be seen in these pictures.

Term 1 Kiwisport
The sport Room 7 did during term one was Ki-O-rahi. A high energy sport with a cool origin story. When I first heard about it I thought the rules sounded rather intricate anot worried that the students would get confused. Boy Oh boy, I was pleasantly surprised. Room7 was pros. They knew what go do and follow the instructions really well. I think I am still confused about the rules.
A tribute to a hero
After the tragic passing of the American professional basketball player Kobe Bean Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and the others on the helicopter flight, Room 7 made a tribute in their memory as the feelings in the class were still raw.
Basketball is a much loved sport in Room 7, as they spend most of their time on the courts during lunch time. A sport that fosters team work and physical fitness.

The new era of learning
Well that was a weird end to Term 1, and an unexpected start to Term 2.
As we know tomorrow Term 2 begins, but because we are still in lockdown it will be done through digital home learning.
How will it look? Well, the possibilities are endless.
We will have tv programs to watch, online videos and video conferencing with the teacher and class, just to name a few.
The important thing will be to make sure we have routines. Just like we have at school, so that we remain focused on our tasks.
It will be different but we can make it fun! You can do it!
